Transition

Welcome to our transition area on our website. This page contains information for all the families joining the St Matthew Academy community in September 2021. We encourage you to check this page regularly for updates over the remainder of this academic year.

We understand that this time is uncertain for us all, but particularly for those children moving from primary to secondary schools this year. Please rest assured that we are doing all we can behind the scenes to plan for a smooth transition for your child. We are already in contact with families and primary schools to gather as much information as possible about the children coming to us. This is something that we would usually do, and this has not changed.

We are currently planning a number of transition events which begins with ‘Friendship Afternoon’ which takes place on 16th March from 4.30-5.30. (If you were unable to attend this event, please click  here to view the presentation)  A link will be sent out for this event in the week beginning 8th March. Further events include 1 to 1 interviews at Transition Parents’ Evening on 23rd June which we would like to hold on site if Covid-19 restrictions allow and our SMA Summer Friendship Social which will take place on Saturday, 26th June after all the pupils have completed their tests.

Parents will also receive a copy of our admissions booklet that we will need all parents/carers to complete. This will provide us with vital information about all the children enrolling at SMA and therefore it is essential that when you receive this booklet, you complete it in as much detail as possible and return it to us before your 1 to 1 interview.
