Welcome to our transition area on our website. This page has been revised for all pupils who are joining the Academy in September 2020 and their parents or carers. We encourage you to check this page regularly for updates.

We understand that this time is uncertain for all, but particularly for those children moving from primary to secondary schools this year. Please be rest assured that we are doing all we can behind the scenes to plan for a smooth transition for your child. We are already in contact with all primary schools to gather as much information as possible about the children coming to us. This is something that we would usually do, and this has not changed.

There would normally be a transition day in July for the whole borough but as this will not be taking place this year, we are investigating ways in which Year 6 can still feel a part of the St Matthew Academy community. We would also usually have 1:1 interviews with our incoming Year 7s and will be offering you a choice of having either a face to face interview or a virtual meeting via ZOOM.

Below is our timeline of each stage of transition and the dates by which we hope to send out information to you. You will soon receive a copy of our admissions booklet that we will need all parents/carers to complete. This will provide us with vital information and therefore it is essential that when you receive this form you complete it in as much detail as possible and return by your interview.
