This term we have been encouraging pupils to get outside and enjoy nature to support Mental Health Awareness Week through a photography competition! We had a fantastic range of submissions from budding photographers across the secondary school but would like to say a particular WELL DONE to Dylan in 8.5 (from Teresa House) for winning 1^st place for his photograph of a duck in a pond, Moreen in 8.2 (from Romero House) for her beautiful sunset and finally Georgina from 7.4 (also from Teresa) for capturing a stunning picture of a bumblebee on a flower! 

We also launched our annual portrait competition and had children from both primary and secondary drawing portraits of their teachers! Well done to Omeyi for her portrait of Mrs Burnett, for Sana in for her picture of Ms Chen and finally Matthew for his portrait of his form tutor Miss Skelton. Well done also to Ashani, Brianna and Bella in Primary for their fantastic entries too! We have such a talented group of artists at St Matthew Academy! 

Finally, we are incredibly busy getting ready to announce our new Pupil Leadership Team. We have had so many outstanding applications from our Year 10 pupils who are keen to be role models for the school and lead on House Events next year!
