Harvest Festival - Foodbank 2020

Keeping up the momentum on the great work that St Matthew Academy is doing to support our local community, October saw us come together to collect items for Lewisham foodbank.

Harvest is a time we thank God for the Harvest and for food he provides for us. We have many things to think about when its Harvest time and one of those is how there are people, who are not as lucky as us and who don’t have enough food. It is a time to share what we have with those who are less fortunate; the old, the poor. Here at St Matthew we have a strong connection with Lewisham Foodbank and have supported them over the years, this year was no different.

Lewisham Foodbank has struggled this year to keep up with the demand as COVID has left more families in need, they have extended opening hours from 2 days a week to 5 to cater for all those who need their help. So more than ever our generosity and support have helped more than ever.

Thank you to everyone who supported this great cause. If you would like to find out more about the amazing work they do in our local community please visit https://lewisham.foodbank.org.uk/
