Year 9 Visit Oxford University

Year 9 Visit to the University of Oxford

On Monday 7th January a number of Year 9 pupils visited the prestigious University of Oxford. This was part of a conference hosted by the Mathematical Institute and Department of Statistics to inspire young women to continue with their study of Mathematics to degree level. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day including the master classes and motivational speakers that were on offer during the visit.

Franklina “ I enjoyed getting to sit in a University lecture theatre and being able to listen to expert speakers discuss interesting mathematical problems linked to everyday topics like climate change.”

Oprah “ I was inspired by how they showed us all the different career opportunities that you can pursue by studying maths at University. I would definitely like to study at a place like this, it was fantastic!”
