SMA Hosts Successful Macmillan Cake Morning
Macmillan Cancer Support marked Friday 26th September as the date for their biggest annual fundraising event — and here at SMA, we were proud to join people across the UK in supporting this incredible cause with our very own Macmillan Cake Morning.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, as pupils and staff came together over delicious cakes and great conversation. The generosity was overwhelming, with an abundance of donated bakes — including some truly impressive homemade creations. From beautifully decorated cupcakes to show-stopping sponge cakes, the display was nothing short of phenomenal.
No SMA cake morning would be complete without our staff bake-off, and this year’s entries did not disappoint! Creativity was at an all-time high with standout bakes including a pancake cake, a classic hummingbird cake, indulgent rocky roads, and inventive spins on American cookies.
Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we raised over £300 — funds that will go directly to support Macmillan’s vital work with those affected by cancer.
The event also served as a shining example of our school’s core value of Service. Our Light Bearers truly rose to the occasion, taking the lead on setting up, serving cake, and tidying away. Their dedication and enthusiasm played a huge part in making the morning such a success — a heartfelt thank you to each of them!
