Volunteers

At St Matthew Academy, we are always happy to be supported in our work by volunteers from the local community. If you have the skills we are looking for and you have the paperwork to show you have been through the usual statutory checks, we would be glad to welcome you to St Matthew Academy as a volunteer.

Volunteer staff often provide the link between the local community and the Academy. We are currently looking for volunteers to work in a number of areas in our school, for example as part of our literacy programme at St Matthew Academy. We would like volunteers to support as adult readers with a group of pupils across the Academy who are working hard to improve their reading. Supporting pupils with their reading, takes place before and after school.

We would also like to encourage volunteers to join us as classroom assistants and lunchtime supervisors in both the Primary and Secondary phases of the Academy. We are also always on the lookout for volunteer support with important Academy events; with organised Academy trips off site and of course our programme of charity fundraising.

If you think you can help with any of this and would like to volunteer to become part of the St Matthew Academy family, please contact igu@stmatthewacademy.co.uk
