Harvest Donation at Lewisham Food Bank

As a Catholic Academy, we are mindful of our calling to support those in need.

As a Catholic Academy, we are mindful of our calling to support those in need. The passage in Matthew 25:35-40, 'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat' reminds us of our duty to help others. In light of this message, pupils from Year 8 at the Academy collected food donations for Lewisham Food Bank. These donations of food were a part of the Academy’s acknowledgement and celebration of Harvest Festival. Harvest Festival reminds us of all the good things God gives us and the importance of sharing with others who might be less fortunate than ourselves.

This charitable event began on Monday 16th October and ran for a week. Mr Cole, the Chaplaincy team, two representatives of Year 8 and the primary phase Head Boy and Head Girl delivered the donations to Lewisham Food Bank on Friday 20th October 2017.

A representative from Lewisham Food Bank welcomed the donations, commenting 'It’s great to see the pupils at the food bank, truly getting involved in helping others in need.'
