Levi Roots Visits SMA!

‘Gimme Sum Reggae Reggae Sauce!’

Business, IFS and DT students were treated today with a visit from Mr Levi Roots. 145 Pupils were first entertained as Levi sang, accompanied by his guitar, ‘the song.’ Levi went on to tell of his journey from being brought up by his Granny in Jamaica, to arriving in the UK and attending school for the first time at the age of 12 in Tulse Hill. He spoke of how he went from making up batches of 67 jars of his famous sauce at a time in his kitchen, to receiving an order overnight from Sainsbury’s for 250,00 jars!

Our pupils asked so many interesting questions about his brand; The Dragons Den; entrepreneurship and the qualities any individual should have to be successful.  Levi quoted Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar; the Bible; his son and his Grandmother who are all very big influences on him.

Levi was very generous in giving out prizes, which he autographed and then spent time meeting and signing planners before pupils were dismissed.

A day I am sure we will all remember, from an inspirational business man and entrepreneur.
