National Numeracy Day

National Numeracy empowers children and adults to get on with numbers, so they can get on in life. This year National Numeracy Day took place on the 19th May 2021, where staff and pupils at SMA participated in various activities tapping into their numeracy skills…and boy did they have fun! Pupils used mathematical vocabularies to write and perform a maths rap with their chosen beat. They were creative, collaborative, and confident developing their soft skills as well their academic skills. Staff were challenged with coming up with the highest number of ways to form the number 24 from a set of four numbers. Our very own Mr. Alexander Blackmore won and came up with a whopping 86 ways!
