£129 raised for Charity during our Pancake morning

On Friday  28thof February all primary school students enjoyed Pancake Day (For Shrove Tuesday), we made fresh pancakes with a variety of toppings, including Nutella, lemon, sugar and syrup.

Whilst the children tucked in we talked about how we are preparing for lent by using up the eggs, flour, syrup and sugar. We also showed pictures to remind the children about the story of Jesus and how the 40 days before Easter are known as lent because they mark the time that Jesus spent fasting in the desert.

A number of children asked for seconds and a lot thought they were “the best pancakes ever!”

To support the Catholic Children's Society, all pupils donated some money in exchange for their pancake, this raised £129.36 for the charity.
