The learning environment of the St Matthew Academy is second to none. A brand new academy, equipped for 21st-century teaching and learning, with excellent resources for all specialist teaching which is bright, airy and spacious with all learning not only on one site but under one roof, provides an excellent learning environment for all our students.

Parents are able to contact the academy's staff quickly and easily via telephone, and email. Parents are also able to see the work set for students and track their attendance, progress and assessments through the academy's electronic links and 'Learning platform' this enables students to work in the academy or at home via a secure network.

The academy has an entitlement curriculum, with all students being offered all subjects at a variety of levels. There is arange of examinations courses offered apart from GCSE, enabling students to link into external college courses, into business and industry specific courses and to provide for their own interests, prior knowledge and skills. All students are required to maintain a wide range of subjects of study up to age 16 in order to provide a broad and solid foundation for future career opportunities.
