Year 9 Brilliant Club at Goldsmiths University

Year 9 Brilliant Club pupils graduated from their course with flying colours!

On Saturday, 18th June, our Year 9 Brilliant Club pupils graduated from their course with flying colours!

The Brilliant Club is an award-winning charity that exists to increase the number of pupils from under-represented backgrounds progressing to highly-selective universities. They do this by mobilising the PhD community to share its academic expertise with state schools.

The final session of their course – looking into the fascinating topic of phantom limb syndrome with Dr Monika Loewy – was followed by a graduation ceremony in front of proud parents and teachers at King’s College, London. Our pupils deserved their accolades and their certificates for completing this undergraduate degree level course.

During the ceremony, Mollie Forrest and Luke Stevens addressed the audience about what new insights they had gained during this fantastic opportunity to study at such a high academic level. Both Mollie and Luke spoke with calm authority about their experience and were commended for their speeches.

All of our Year 9 Brilliant Club members are a credit to St Matthew Academy!
