Lewisham's all-through Catholic Academy for children aged three to 16

Welcome to the vibrant, caring and Catholic learning community of St Matthew Academy. The Academy has a growing reputation for offering our children an extraordinary education.

As a member of the team from St Matthew's beginnings in 2007, I have just seen our first cohort of boys and girls leave the academy as self-disciplined, self-confident, loving and public-spirited young people, and I am excited for what the future holds for them. I feel very privileged now to have taken over as principal of this warm and loving family school.

I am committed to giving our children a better education here than they would receive at any other school. The education we offer is designed to ensure that every child who comes to us is able to discover, develop and fulfil their spiritual, intellectual and personal potential.

Our emphasis on achievement – academic, spiritual and personal –   has put us in the top five per cent of schools in the UK for student progress, meaning that we take our children further and faster than nearly every other school in the country.
