Seeing some of the weird and wonderful sculptures and paintings in the Tate Modern's collection was a great thrill to the children of 2E, who went on an art trip to the gallery this week. Their task was to compare sculptures and paintings, and to sketch some of the works they saw. 'I really liked the Tate Modern,' says Adeola. 'It has a huge entrance room, which is painted black and had lots of pictures flashed up.'

'Students observed and recorded the works of various artists, ranging from paintings, mixed media, clay, sculptures and installations,' says 2E's specialist art teacher Ms Regis. 'They were able to interact with some of the artwork especially by Yayoi Kusama. Their enthusiasm and artistic flair were evident throughout the visit. Thanks to all who supported this trip.'
