Fashioning the Future
To be involved we had to fill in an application form and send it to Mr Nirsimloo. Thirty-six of us were chosen and we were put into groups. We had to come up with a company name and a fashion-related business idea or product to sell to the judges.
My group was called Immortal Love and our team leader was Shivangi from Year 9. We worked on a fashion app.
On International Women’s Day we worked together in our groups all day. Everyone worked very hard to impress the judges. It was stressful but also fun!
In the evening we all pitched our business ideas to the judges. The judges were Fay Bacon, Deborah Millington, Sherry Bitting and Yana Johnson MBE. They are all successful businesswomen in the fashion industry. There was also a big audience of our families and friends. It went well and everyone did a good presentation.
In the end our group won and there was an amazing prize! We were all given a piece of handmade jewellery
by La Diosa.
The fashion challenge was hard work but also great fun and exciting.
