SMA students show talent on Genesis radio's 'Da word out show'

Da word out show is hosted on Genesis Radio by Tripple and Slimz, both former students of St Matthew Academy's predessor school, at the Albany in Deptford. The school was approached by the DJs who were offering music and performance, drama, creative writing and graffiti workshops.
Two SMA students, Shaniqua Forbes and Janelle Fagan, signed up for the music workshop and took part in creating a song called ‘Baby’. They were very enthusiastic about the workshop:.Shaniqua said recording the song was “the best thing I’ve ever done”. This wonderful song was written in one day, recorded in a studio in Catford the day after, and then mastered. It was completed in three days. The girls didn’t just record the song; they performed it live on Da word out show, which was broadcast on the local radio station ‘Genesis’ in front of a live audience including parents who had come to support their child.
