Lewisham Book Awards comes to SMA

We were very pleased to host the Lewisham Book Awards this week, and welcome students from local schools to take part in a great promotional activity.

Forty students from Sedgehill, Prendergast-Ladywell Fields, Sydenham, Bonus Pastor, Forest Hill Boys and St Matthew Academy formed mixed teams which who competed to sell one of the shortlisted books to Inbali Iserles, author of The Tygrine Cat.

'All the entries were fantastic,' said Inbali. 'They made me want to read all of the books. It was very difficult to judge which was the best presentation, but in the end the team from Sedgehill and Forest Hill Boys succeeded in convincing me that theirs was the most exciting book.'
