Staff run success launches new focus on running
A team of teachers from St Matthew launched a new era of running at the school by completing the Greenwich Meridian 10K. All nine of the team finished the toughest 10K course in London, in times ranging from 43 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes.

As well as the staff running club, St Matthew is starting a new running club for students, the Run Dem Crew, where students will train to do 5K and 10K runs - culminating in competitive runs at the school's sports day at Sutcliffe Park, SE9, in the summer term.
Students are also being encouraged to sign up to the London Mini Marathon trials. These will be held at Ladywell running track for children aged 11 and over on the 12 March.
Those who are successful run a race on the day of the full London Marathon and receive a T-shirt and medal. Click here for full details.
