Welcome from the Head of Lower School
Hello there - I'm very pleased to welcome you to the Lower School of the vibrant, caring Christian learning community of St Matthew Academy.My name is Siobhan Quinn, and I am the new Head of the Lower School
The Lower School consists of a nursery class with 25 places and two forms in each year from Reception to Year 4. All our lower school students are guaranteed a place in the middle and upper schools.
We are sited in our own wing of St Matthew Academy, with its own entrance and special carefully designed outdoor learning and recreation areas.
Our students are taught in a stimulating school environment,with an inspiring curriculum based around the International Primary Curriculum. Children are encouraged to plan and perform tasks that involve investigating, observing and reporting. Exciting and interesting fieldwork, excusions and enterprise challenges extend their learning beyond the walls of the classroom.
As an all-through school we encourage a family atmosphere of caring and there are many opportunities for older and young children to work and play together.
